Who We AreWhat We DoGet Involvedcalendarmartialarts and science

So now that you know a little more about who we are and what we do ...why not come and join us?

With so many opportunities to learn and try it can be a bit overwhelming at first. But don't worry! We know that it can be hard to decide where to start. Afterall, we were once new to the SCA ourselves! With this in mind, we've collected some suggestions for you below.

Join us for our weekly meeting, Thursdays at 7pm in 103 Walker Building. Meetings are an informal way to get together and discuss all aspects of SCA involvement. Introduce yourself and get to know our members! Weekly meetings also often have small informal workshops.

Check out our calendar for dates and times of upcoming activities. Events, fencing, fighter practice, dancing, garb making, ect. Visit a workshop, dance practice, or marshaled activity to get a first hand look at what it's like. Most activities require little or no prior knowledge of the SCA, and provide "loaner" materials for newcomers to try the activity without cost or commitment.

Contact our Chatelaine with any other questions you may have about getting involved.

Contact our Seneschal for information on demonstrations and educational opportunities. Our group can help you to create a one of a kind educational experience involving many aspects of pre 17th century life. From dress and daily life, to the arts and combat.

Visit SCA.org for more information. Find information on other SCA groups, activities, and events. This site can also help to answer those technical question on things such as membership, waivers, and the specific rules and regulations of certain activities.

Visit AEthelmearc.org for more information on our Sylvan Kingdom. Our Kingdom covers West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and western New York. You can find information on Kingdom events, a newcomers guide, event planning assistance, and even award recommendation forms.
